So close….

Quick review: venue lot full early, had to park/walk one mile each way from the zoo and $20 for that. Opening band sucked, all five songs sounded the same, just not good. ZZ Top hit the stage at 8:30 and exited the stage by 9:30 which included their encore. Billy Gibbons was on point singing and playing. Frank Beard looked tired the entire hour but kept the beat. Elwood Francis had the bass parts down and is slowly working on the signature moves the front two always entertained the crowds with. The missing piece was Dusty’s vocals and songs. So bummed to not hear Tush and Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers, but Dusty is gone and so may be the dynamic that was a ZZ Top show. As this could very well be their last tour, I am glad I got to see them, I just would have liked to have been more than 60 minutes worth as their catalog runs much deeper than the dozen songs they performed on this night.
